Louis Dionne 119cef40d1 [libc++] Remove workarounds for systems that used to require __need_XXX macros
Libc++ tried accomodating systems that need to be able to define various
__need_FOO macros before including C library headers, however it does not
appear to be needed anymore in most cases. Indeed, glibc used to use that
system to conditionally provide definitions, however almost all instances
of these macros have been removed from glibc years ago.

I think the next step would be to also fix Clang's own builtin headers
to stop needing these macros.

Louis Dionne af8c49dc1e [libc++] Introduce a setting to remove fstream from the library
This allows porting the library to platforms that are able to support
<iostream> but that do not have a notion of a filesystem, and where it
hence doesn't make sense to support std::fstream (and never will).

Also, remove reliance on <fstream> in various tests that didn't
actually need it.

Nikolas Klauser 627465cf9f [libc++] Move preferred_name declarations into the forward declaring headers and add pmr preferred names
We currently define the preferred names in multiple places. `basic_string` and `basic_string_view` also have a lot of aliases, which makes the declarations quite long. So let's only add the preferred names in forward-declaring headers to make the implementation more readable and have all the preferred names in one place.

Arthur O'Dwyer 243da90ea5 [libc++] Add the C++17 <memory_resource> header (mono-patch)
This patch is the rebase and squash of three earlier patches.
It supersedes all three of them.

- D47111: experimental monotonic_buffer_resource.
- D47358: experimental pool resources.
- D47360: Copy std::experimental::pmr to std::pmr.

The significant difference between this patch and the-sum-of-those-three
is that this patch does not add `std::experimental::pmr::monotonic_buffer_resource`
and so on. This patch simply adds the C++17 standard facilities, and
leaves the `std::experimental` namespace entirely alone.

2022-10-02 16:23:35 -07:00
Konstantin Varlamov 005916de58 [libc++][ranges]Refactor `copy{,_backward}` and `move{,_backward}`
Instead of using `reverse_iterator`, share the optimization between the 4 algorithms. The key observation here that `memmove` applies to both `copy` and `move` identically, and to their `_backward` versions very similarly. All algorithms now follow the same pattern along the lines of:
```
if constexpr (can_memmove<InIter, OutIter>) {
  memmove(first, last, out);
} else {
  naive_implementation(first, last, out);
}
```
A follow-up will delete `unconstrained_reverse_iterator`.

This patch removes duplication and divergence between `std::copy`, `std::move` and `std::move_backward`. It also improves testing:
- the test for whether the optimization is used only applied to `std::copy` and, more importantly, was essentially a no-op because it would still pass if the optimization was not used;
- there were no tests to make sure the optimization is not used when the effect would be visible.

Mark de Wever 24e1736d84 [libc++][random] Removes transitive includes.
It seems these includes are still provided by the sub headers, so it only
removes the duplicates.

There is no change in the list of includes, but the change affects the
modular build. By not having the includes in the top-level header the
module map has changed. This uncovers missing includes in the tests
and missing exports in the module map. This causes the huge amount of
changes in the patch.

With the goal of reusing that handler to do other things besides

Furthermore, I didn't want to use the name `__libcpp_abort_handler`,
since that would give the impression that the handler is called
whenever `std::abort()` is called, which is not the case at all.
